We previously lived in Philadelphia and were ready to make the move to the suburbs where our children would have more space and opportunity to be outdoors. A colleague had recommended that we get in touch with Felicia, and this was the best advice that we could have gotten during the house-hunting process. From our very first conversation with her, it was clear that she was an exceptional real estate agent, with an uncanny ability to understand the nuances of what we were looking for. After that first meeting, she sent us several homes to consider, and one of those homes turned out to be the one that we settled on. In fact, we were prepared for a year-long search, because we were fairly particular about what the perfect house might be, but Felicia understood our goals so clearly and knew the mainline real estate market so well, that it was the very first house that she took us too! We looked at a few more to be sure, but we knew immediately that Felicia had found us the perfect home. Throughout the negotiation process, she worked extremely hard to make sure that we had as much information as possible about our future home. She has been in the business for a long time and has many valuable connections. She connected us with a contractor, an arborist, a heating and cooling expert, all of whom came out to meet with us, look at the house, and discuss all of our considerations. These recommendations were so good that we are still in touch with many of these people for routine maintenance issues that have come up. Even now, when we have a question or need someone new to come to take a look at something, we start by getting in touch with Felicia to see if she has a recommendation. Most real estate agents give you the feeling that you are just a commission for them. Felicia is completely different. She was truly invested in our future well-being in our new home. The list is endless, researching all possible options for condos ahead of time, taking us on many condo tours even with the purpose of eliminating them, helping us zero in on our desired location, introducing us to another Athertyn resident and her condo, advising us on negotiating with the seller of two properties, successfully purchasing our eventual home, figuring out the ramifications of a garage, arranging the home warranty and review or repair of the appliances, helping us make our way through the title maze, being super-organized about the closing costs and other details, liaising with the sellers’ agent and Athertyn staff after the purchase, being present at the closing without us (or the errant wire transfer!) and maintaining your cool when we had lost ours, keeping all parties informed, meeting us with keys and codes at the condo, bringing your perfect and lovely gift of breakfast treats, sharing your knowledge of stores and tradesmen. In terms of staging the house, we took Felicia’s and Monique’s advice to the letter, Once the house was ready they sent a photographer who took great pictures. We were so impressed with the time, patience, and effort Felicia took in choosing the best photos and creating a very professional, beautiful flyer! As a consequence of their efforts, we had a purchased offer above our asking price in a day and a half! Before the purchase offer, Felicia had scheduled an open house which we decided to honor although the offer was on the table. That morning Felicia fractured her foot in two places, and instead of going to the emergency room stayed in our home for the duration in a great deal of pain unbeknownst to us.
